Early this year i purchased a pair of Nike football boots for over £100. They were advertised saying 'the lightest pair of football boots ever made, you wont even feel them on your feet'. The reason they were so light was because they were only made of a thin plastic with carbon fibre soles. I chose this particular style of boot because i play on the wing and need to have as much speed as possible and from the way they advertised them it seemed they were the best for speed.
I purchased them online and it took a week for them to arrive. I wore them to training the following day and within the first 20 minites, i went in for a tackle and came out to find the seam connecting the sole to the rest of the boot had opened slightly. It didnt seem that big at the time so i thought id play on. Unfortunately after the next three tackels it seemed to get bigger, plus on the other boot there was a hole in the top by my toes.
Once i got home i rang up the company i bought them from asking for my money back and they said that it wasnt refundable as they were broken after use. I think the manufacturer should have thought more about how they were made.
